Tomorrow, January 28th 2017, our 2nd Haitian student, Gloria Erau, will come to Germany. We wish her a wonderful flight and are waiting for her to come.

Fact is - education is the key to overcome poverty!  This is why I decided to start my own actions. 
Due my capabilities it will NOT be this world-chanching project - but if no-one starts, nothing will start. 

I WANT HIGH SKILLED YOUNG PEOPLE TO GET THE CHANCE TO STUDY IN GERMANY! 

My project is simple. I contact organizations working in poor countries (f.e. Haiti ), who are trying  to support young people to get the chance to study  in a university . All of these youngsters live in poor countries, where  chances are only with the rich or the ones that can afford education for their kids. Unfortunately these organizations have to reject many of the applicants - and out of these rejected applicants I recruit “my” students. Getting to this point, means achieving a high-school degree, these young people already faced so much hardship and problems to finish their education. No support from the family, many had to work aside studying, they had to walk long distance to attend school and so much more - these kids had to suffer a lot and still graduated from a very high score! That shows, that all of them would do everything to achieve their dream , to get an academic education, to support their families, communities, countries. 

What I am doing : 

1. I am looking for high skilled high-school graduates. 

2. I contact them and ask them to do a kind of evaluation test. 

3. For now I can take only applicants with advanced English knowledge. 
But the plan is to start German classes in Haiti, Nigeria, Tanzania (or other countries, where there is a demand) to give the kids the chance to achieve the German language level, they need to study here in Germany. 

4. l contact the Universities and start application process.

5. When getting admission, we start the visa process. Many of the young people have no passport as their parents cannot afford it. There  is financial support also in this. The visa procedure often requires a lots of documents, but also security amounts.  Germany requests up to 8000 Euro security deposit – without this deposit there is no visa. Many of these young people have to travel to apply for a visa.  Like the Haitians who have to go to Domenican Republic, as in Haiti itself there there is no Embassy. All this is costly - and financial support is needed. 

6. Next step after the visa is issued (hopefully!), they need to get airtickets. 

7. Being in Germany, they need accommodation, food, support - some of them do not have proper cloths or shoes, at least no warm ones . 

8.The admission fee for the university (around 120 Euro per semester) has to be paid. 

9. They need books, pencils, and other materials . 

10.Then there is money for SIM-cards (important to communicate with their family and friends back home) or for Internet connection. 

11.Transportation , etc, etc.

Even just providing the absolutely necessary, will cost at least 500 Euros per month - additional all the preparation costs and security deposits. 

For now I am capable to support only a very small no of students (1-4), but I would like to give so many more this chances. I was told, that it might be ridiculous what I am doing, as the small nos will not change the situation . 

I STRONGLY BELIEVE, EACH ONE OF THESE STUDENTS WILL START CREATING A CYCLE OF WEALTH - FOR THE FAMILY, THE COMMUNITY, THE COUNTRY. EVEN SMALL BEGINNING CAN INITIATE SO MANY CHANGES . 

For this I need people to help me to create more money to support more students. ALL OVER THE WORLD! 
AND FOR NOW I AM STARTING WITH THESE WONDERFUL YOUNG PEOPLE FROM HAITI - A COUNTRY FULL OF POVERTY BUT WITH HUGE POTENTIAL IN ITS PEOPLE.
